National direct real investment and capital transfers from the Nation to the provinces reached in the first ten months of the year $440,005 millionwith an increase of 44.6% compared to the same period of 2021, according to the report released this Tuesday by the Argentine Association of Budget and Public Financial Administration (ASAP).
In the accumulated between January and October, the province of Buenos Aires once again led the positions with $97,280 million, followed by the city of the same name with $85,776 million.
Anyway, in the case of CABA the figures do not necessarily reflect the geographical distribution of the worksas many companies have their headquarters in the district but carry out their operations in the interior.
ASAP specified, based on official data from the Integrated Financial Information System (Sidif)that within the average variation for the whole country “a large deviation by jurisdiction was verified”.
For example, in CABA, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero and Tierra del Fuego there were interannual variations of more than 75%, while the transfers for the provinces of Santa Cruz, Mendoza, La Pampa, Buenos Aires, San Juan, Neuquén, Chaco, Chubut and Santa Fe grew less than 35%.
Likewise, in the case of Jujuy, Río Negro, San Luis and Córdoba, the interannual variation was negative.
On the other hand, the current and capital transfers destined for provinces and municipalities totaled $655,853 million in the accumulated January-October, 51.8% more than the amount accrued in the same period of 2021.
The Current transfers they increased 64.2% (equivalent to an additional $185,348 million) and capital investments registered an interannual increase of 26.8% (equivalent to an additional $38,357 million).
In nominal terms, current transfers to provinces and municipalities totaled $474,129 million and were assigned to functions Internal Relations ($2,023,692 million), Education ($112,326 million), Health ($60,032 million), Social Security ($55,227 million), Promotion and Social Assistance ($30,562 million) and other functions ($13,291 million).
Direct real investment is the one destined to the acquisition or production on its own account of capital goods, such as buildings, constructions or equipment that are used to produce other goods and services and are not exhausted in the first use.
