The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Wednesday that approximately 1.4 million people have been assisted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the last seven years, both in street campaigns and in the different prosecutor’s offices throughout the country.
“This deserves a big round of applause because we are approaching a historic figure of one and a half million people assisted in the last seven years (…). For me, it has a transcendental value because it represents direct contact with our people,” explained the head of the criminal action in statements offered to the media.
From Plaza Parque Carabobo in Caracas, the senior official said that the program “The Public Prosecutor’s Office Goes to Your Community” has served a total of 47,480 people; of which 5,389 criminal complaints have been filed and 38,795 guidelines have been given.
He added that the program “The Public Prosecutor’s Office Handles Your Complaint in the Parish” managed the cases of 9,315 people; with a total of 515 complaints collected throughout the country. The total number of people assisted between both complementary programs amounts to 56,795.

Regarding the event held this Wednesday in Parque Carabobo, the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office detailed that 82 officials of the body were deployed; among which 9 general directors stand out; 32 line directors and 40 prosecutors belonging to the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas.
“We have received 24 complaints of a criminal nature related to disturbance, invasion, use of false private documents, fraud, injuries, cruel treatment, aggravated robbery, human rights, gender violence and theft,” he said.
Likewise, 282 orientations were offered and 110 cases were received that were not criminal in nature; and 77 referrals were made to other agencies. Likewise, 95 problems of neighborly coexistence were addressed.
32 requests for expediting cases and 15 requests for social assistance were also received.
“The Public Prosecutor’s Office is at the forefront of this type of street activities, a unique modality in the world and one that we will continue to strengthen for our people,” said the president of the Republican Moral Council.
