After noon, Alexis Jiménez Oliva turned himself in to the Attorney General’s Office, after giving the order for his arrest, there he alleged that he is a politically persecuted person.
“I am politically persecuted, they are violating my rights,” he said upon arrival.
After the delivery of Jiménez, the Attorney General of the Nation, Javier Caraballo, said that
Jiménez is being required by the Chiriquí Regional Prosecutor’s Office for the events that occurred in Viguí, two days ago, he could be accused of justifying the crime.
The prosecutor stressed that as authorities they must make order and social coexistence prevail in general, therefore, the prosecutors carry out the investigation, collecting evidence to be able to continue with the case.
He called on all those who have been victims of this type of criminal behavior or those who might have evidence that could help prosecutors to clarify the facts to come to the office of the Public Ministry in Chiriquí or in the city. of Panama, or in the place where they are to collaborate with the investigation.
In this way, said the prosecutor, they will be able to “make the people linked to these unfortunate events and respond to society.”
Jiménez was transferred to Chiriquí, handcuffed at the hands and feet and under heavy police custody, for having committed crimes against the administration of Justice, to the detriment of the Panamanian State.
