Marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Alak explained that in 2021 the provincial plan against human trafficking was approved” and assured that this initiative will continue for the next three years “with actions of prevention, protection, accompaniment, persecution, strengthening and institutional articulation.”
“With this work we paid off a debt that the province had since 2012, with a three-year plan that conforms to international standards”said the minister through a statement from the portfolio he heads.
In the province of Buenos Aires, the agency in charge of rescuing and providing comprehensive assistance to victims is the Provincial Program for the Rescue and Accompaniment of Persons Affected by the Crime of Trafficking, under the Provincial Directorate of Access to Justice and Victim Assistance. of the Undersecretary of Justice.
“Trafficking in persons for the purpose of labor, sexual or other exploitation represents a serious violation of human rights because it implies obtaining a utility or profit at the expense of human beings who are considered as merchandise, which violates their freedom and self-determination,” remarked the Buenos Aires minister.

Meanwhile, from the agency it was reported that in the province of Buenos Aires and according to the figures obtained by the Observatory of Policies against Trafficking and its Related Crimes, from the beginning of the year to the present 69 female people, 31 male and 3 trans.
Regarding the object of the crime, a total of 50 people were trafficked for sexual exploitation and another 48 for labor exploitation, 2 for mixed trafficking and the last 5 for other crimes.
As for the main nationalities of the victims, the majority (62) are from Argentina, followed by 23 from Bolivia and 13 from Paraguay.
Regarding the fight against trafficking in the Province, it was reported that the Program “intervenes at the request of a court, by referral from another body or request for collaboration or accompaniment, due to complaints, or due to labor inspections.”
