The economic reactivation of the tourism sector is advancing positively throughout the country, especially in the Buenos Aires provincewhere this year, for the celebration of Holy Week, there was a record number of visitors.
According to the Buenos Aires Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation, the Buenos Aires province received more than 1.5 million visitors, which confirms that this is one of the the destinations favorites in the country.
The figures also indicate that 37.5% more visitors arrived in the province of Buenos Aires than those registered in 2021, when the sector was just beginning to reactivate; and 20% more than in 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic.
Also, the ministry revealed that the province had an average hotel occupancy of 82% during the long weekend that just ended.
However, municipalities such as Junín, Tigre, San Antonio de Areco, Lobos, Tandil, Sierra de la Ventana or La Caleta reached 95% occupancy or more for Easter.
In total, during the long weekend, 1,539,392 tourists chose Buenos Aires destinations to spend their rest season, one of the highest figures in the last 5 years.
What were the most visited destinations in the province of Buenos Aires
According to the ministry report, the municipalities of the province that had the most tourist arrivals for Easter were: General Pueyrredon (212,000), La Costa (151,000), Villa Gesell (97,000).
Also added to the ranking are Pinamar (96,000), Monte Hermoso (37,000) and General Alvarado (35,000), so it is expected that these figures will be exceeded or equaled for the winter holidays.
To this end, the provincial government advances different promotion strategies, so that more people are encouraged to visit all the destinations offered by this part of the national territory.
