In order for people to fall for new scams, lto Attorney General’s Office launched an alert about a new type of theft, using new technologies.

According to the entity, the cybercriminals are using iartificial intelligence (AI) to clone voices of family, friends and even employees of financial institutions.
Through this technology, they manage to trick people into revealing sensitive information such as passwords and verification codes, which would allow them to access bank accounts and leave them empty.
The Prosecutor’s Office reported an increase in this type of robberies. Despite fraud awareness campaigns, the technological sophistication of these scams has made them difficult to detect.

In any situation, specialists and authorities recommend the following measures:
-Do not hesitate when faced with any unexpected calls, especially from unknown numbers. It is best to hang up and communicate directly with the person or entity using official numbers.
-Avoid revealing your information. Remember that your passwords should never be shared.
-Stay informed of new types of scams.
-Change your passwords constantly.
