The anti-corruption prosecutor Mónica Silva asked the Judiciary to prevent the former head of Immigration, Roxana del Águila, from leaving the country for 15 days for the alleged irregular dealings she had with the TV host. Andres Hurtado.
According to the indictment, Hurtado interceded with Águila on behalf of footballer Roberto Siucho to expedite the “denationalization” process to become a Chinese citizen and thus be able to play for a team in the Asian country in 2019.
In the request, which he agreed to Peru21prosecutor Silva recorded the statement that the athlete gave on September 10 before her office. Siucho recalled that the same day he met Hurtado, he contacted the former official.
“At that moment where he made a call to a woman, who I didn’t know who she was, I remember that he put the call on loudspeaker and Chibolín told him: “I have a nephew who needs to renounce his Peruvian nationality and you are not letting him.” (she spoke quite familiarly), so the woman replied that she should send him the DNI number, nothing more. When she hung up the call, Chibolín explained to me who the person was and there I learned that it was the superintendent of Immigrations, Roxana del. Águila,” declared the Alianza Atlético striker.
According to the investigation, Siucho Neira got what he wanted three days after ‘Chibolín’ intervened. In return, the former comedian did not ask him for anything at that time, although he clarified that when he needed his support for social work he would not turn his back on him.
A few weeks later, the driver contacted the soccer player to request financial help. And it continued for several days, to which Roberto Siucho, faced with his imminent trip abroad, gave him a BMW car so that he could sell it and thus have money.
Prosecutor Silva also maintained that del Águila can flee the country. The lawyer of the former Migration official, Fernando Silva, told Peru21 that his sponsor will comply with the request and handed over his passport as proof of this.
There are three Prosecutor’s Offices that investigate the Chibolín case: the Anti-Corruption Office, which sees the irregular dealings between Hurtado and del Águila; the Supreme Court, which is investigating senior prosecutor Elizabeth Peralta, businessman Javier Miu Lei and Iván Siucho; and Money Laundering, which is on the trail of the financial resources handled by the presenter.
