Salary increases, bonuses, gratuities, leaves of absence for different reasons that in total total 266 days, are some points that the new collective agreement of the IPS incorporates and that generates a gigantic inequality in relation to the Labor Code. Senator Stephan Rasmussen believes that contributing should no longer be mandatory.

A Salary readjustment of 5% per year, extra bonuses of 100% of the employee’s salary (an extra Christmas bonus at the beginning of each year) and bonuses, They are the economic benefits of the new IPS collective contract, already approved by the Ministry of Labor.

To this is added the number of days of leave to be absent for various reasons: 12 days for the final exam of secondary or higher education, up to 45 days due to illness of the spouse, children and parents, 8 days for dissertations on behalf of the institution, 10 days for medical consultations or studies, 90 days for illness and another 10 days for personal obligations, judicial, governmental disposition, etc.

Besides, 30 days for “unspecified circumstances”, 12 days for “exceptional issues”, 24 hours for the day of public officials, 11 days for death in the family, 10 days for marriage, 12 days for menstrual cramps, 2 days for PAP tests and mammography, 28 days for exposures and X-rays.

“The most contradictory thing is that IPS is not a public institution, in the sense that ite is not financed with resources from the treasury, but with contributions. Huge inequities are generated in relation to the Labor Code that applies to everyone, so, by pressure and prebendsince it is not money from the president of the IPSsays yes to everything”, questioned Senator Stephan Rasmussen, in an interview with Universo-Nación Media radio.

He described it as frustrating that the contributors, both the workers and the employers, make the gigantic effort to put the money, forced by the Ministry of Labor, so that the resources are later wasted.

“We have to seethen go back to the optional IPS, whoever wants to contribute should contribute, so that the IPS does not have a monopoly on social security, because or else they waste the contributor’s money in exchange for votes and perks,” he concluded.
