The National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavidezordered that the six congressmen of People’s Actionsyndicated as ‘The children‘, are investigated for the alleged crime of criminal organization, according to information from El Comercio.

The Nation’s prosecutor also details that ‘The children‘ would have supported the management of the head of state through their votes in Congress, specifically in the cases of presidential vacancy motions and in the interpellations and censures of various ministers and former ministers.
Likewise, Patricia Benavidez maintains that the six congressmen voted in favor of the confidence issue requested by the ministerial cabinet in exchange for “address some public contracts and hire trusted personnel that they proposed in different ministries”.
The tax document also says that the six congressmen from Acción Popular would have acted as “middle managers” within the alleged criminal organization led by peter castleforming the so-called ‘congressional arm’ of the head of state. In addition, it is argued that the criminal network would be made up of other legislators whose identifications have not yet been determined.
