The Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation against the son of President Petro

The prosecution General of the Nation announced this Friday that it opened an investigation against Nicholas Petroson of the president Gustavo Petroto verify the complaints made by Day Vasquezex-wife of the president’s eldest son, who assures that her ex-partner received money from ex-drug traffickers for the presidential campaign.

The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that a group of prosecutors, investigators and experts was formed that went to Barranquilla (Atlántico) and has already begun the first proceedings with the complainant.

“Faced with the safety of Mrs. Day Vásquez, the Prosecutor’s Office, headed by the director of the
CTI Technical Investigation Corps and the Director of Protection and Assistance are
examining the risk conditions of the complainant to generate the protection conditions that are necessary”,
stated the prosecution body.

In an interview with Semana magazine, Vásquez assured that Nicolás Petro, today a deputy to the Atlantic Assembly, supposedly received money from Santander Lopesierra, the ‘Malboro Man’, and from Alfonso ‘Turco’ Hilsaca, both prosecuted by the courts.

Regarding the request to investigate Juan Fernando Petro, brother of the President, the Prosecutor’s Office had already opened a criminal notice of its own motion since last January 23, based on a report presented by the Criminal Analysis Section (SAE) of the CTI. .
