The Public Ministry’s investigation into the massive escape of inmates from the Misiones prison points to the possibility that prison officers have some responsibility for what happened.
After more than 24 hours of the escape of 35 inmates from the Misiones Penitentiary, both the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office continue with the search and investigation of the case.
In this regard, prosecutor Raúl Aguero reported at a press conference that one of the deficiencies found in the Misiones prison is the closed circuit images.
On the point, he indicated that an investigation is open for the release of prisoners and riots inside the prison. “I do not rule out the responsibility of prison officers,” said the prosecutor.
In that sense, he pointed out that all those who were on duty at the time of the escape, from the lowest to the highest rank, will enter the investigation.
So far, 28 inmates have been recaptured, out of a total of 35 who escaped this Sunday afternoon from the Misiones Penitentiary.
Some of those still at large are: Odilio Domínguez Marquez,
Jose Maria Mesa,
Bernardino Medina Meza and
