The commission of prosecutors in charge of Omar Mejillones added six crimes to the ‘Golpe I’ case and requested another four months of preventive detention against the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, detained since December 30 in the Chonchocoro maximum security prison.

The judge in the case sent Governor Camacho to jail only for the charge of terrorism but, according to the requirement to which EL DEBER had access, now the prosecutors ask that he be prosecuted for “terrorism financing, active bribery, seduction of troops, public incitement to commit a crime, criminal association and improper use of public services”.

The request was made on April 20 to the anti-corruption judge Mario Elmer Laura Picavia and this Friday notifications were made to the parties, although that document has not yet entered the computer system of the Judicial Branch. After this presentation, The authority must set a time and date for the hearing date to be determined of precautionary measures.

The accusation was presented before the First Anti-Corruption Investigation Court of La Paz late this Friday afternoon, confirmed the defense lawyer of the governor of Santa Cruz, Martín Camacho. “There is a desire to keep him illegally deprived of liberty indefinitely,” he claimed.
