The National Police today arrested prosecutor Henry Amenábar Almonte (52), who was allegedly caught receiving a bribe of $3,000 in one of the bathrooms of a shopping center in Miraflores.

The arrest occurred when Amenábar Almonte allegedly demanded payment in exchange for favoring a person investigated for drug possession. According to official information, the amount demanded by the prosecutor originally amounted to $20,000, although the person involved would have only agreed to partial payment.

The arrest was carried out by the Anti-Corruption Directorate of the National Police, after an operation carried out in flagrante delicto. The procedure took place inside the bathroom of the Saga Falabella shopping center, where the prosecutor was intercepted with the money in hand.
