The production of the Uruguayan industry grew 10.1% in January compared to the same month last yearreported this Monday the National Institute of Statistics INE, after the publication of the production index of the sector.
For its part, the core or heart of the industry —excluding the La Teja refinery, the pulp mills and the Pepsi free zone— moderated its growth from 16.3% in December to 6.6% in January, commented the analyst Nicolás Cicheveski of CPA Ferrere on his Twitter account.

On the other hand, the index of hours worked in January for the entire industry advanced 3.3% in January in the interannual comparison, while that of employed personnel did 3.6%.
In the average of the last 12 months, the production of the entire industry expanded at a rate of 13.4%hours worked 7.9% and employed personnel 5.9%, according to the INE.

The division that most affected the increase in the industrial product in January was the manufacture of food products, with a variation of 22.9% and an incidence of 9.1 percentage points, due to the strong dynamism of the meat-packing industry.
They were followed in order of positive incidence by the manufacture of motor vehicles and the manufacture of beverages, with variations of 307.2% and 17.6%, and incidences of 2.2 points and 1 point, respectively.
