In 1986 he appeared in the Wall Street Journal the concept glass ceiling barriers (glass ceiling barriers, in Spanish). The term, which was born in the late 70’s, was coined metaphorically to visualize the obstacles that women face in their professional lives. Since the term emerged and was consolidated, different policies have been implemented to counteract the factors that lead to the so-called glass ceiling and the gender gap imposed in the workplace.
