Santo Domingo – With the aim of strengthening communication and dissemination of government investment during Luis Abinader’s first term, the Local Media Relations Directorate, part of the Government Strategy and Communication Directorate (Diecom), held a national meeting with the participation of regional and provincial representatives, in the Hermanas Mirabal hall of the National Palace.
This activity was part of the first working meeting corresponding to the first semester of 2024 of the Media Directorate with its regional and provincial branches.
In addition, it served as a space for reflection on the achievements made in the area of government advocacy at the local level during the months of January to June, as well as to outline plans and projects to be implemented for the next semester.
At the opening of the event, Federico Reynoso Benzan, Director of Media for the Presidency, highlighted the directorate’s commitment to informing citizens about the works carried out by the government of President Luis Abinader, through local spokespersons.
“Transparent and effective communication is essential to building trust and active participation of the population in government affairs,” said Reynoso Benzan.
For his part, the director of the Essential Medicines Program and Logistics Support Center (Promese/Cal), Rodolfo Pérez, pointed out that President Luis Abinader has instructed all his officials to make their investments thinking about efficiency, transparency and the well-being of all Dominicans.
“We are recognized as the seventh largest economy in the region,” Pérez said during his presentation on Advances in Social and Economic Development in the Dominican Republic.
He said that President Abinader has achieved a lot with few resources, and that this is due to spending discipline and inflation control.
Meanwhile, Diecom’s communications advisor, Raúl Baz, an expert in digital communications, stressed the importance of a clear and coherent communication strategy, especially in a period of large government investment, and reaffirmed Diecom’s mission of keeping citizens well informed and engaged with government projects and achievements.
