President Alberto Fernández will hold a meeting this Sunday, at 0:40 a.m. in Argentina, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with his counterpart from the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in order to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to official sources, during the meeting, which will take place in one of the halls of the emblematic building located in front of Tiananmen Square, Both leaders are expected to “endorse Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and Agreements in different areas”.

In this context, members of the delegation that accompanies the President held this Saturday “a series of meetings with Chinese businessmen to strengthen cooperation and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, with the aim of diversifying the national exportable supply, stimulating foreign direct investment, obtaining financing for key infrastructure works and advancing with the sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations that are underway”.

Among these negotiations is the agreement so that INVAP Sociedad del Estado, based in the city of Bariloche, can sell reactors for medicinal use and radioisotope producers to China.

“The final agreement is being studied,” said the governor of Río Negro, Arabela Carreras, who pointed out that it is an investment that, in a first stage, will be 450 million dollars.

Meanwhile, the Catamarca governor, Raul Jalil, met with the CEO of the mining company that invests in lithium in his province, and specified that in that company “they are very enthusiastic about continuing with the investments they have in Catamarca”, while adding that “with a lot of mining investment , we continue to lead the national level in job creation”.

Furthermore, the chancellor santiago cafiero and the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, He Lifeng, met to define the details of the initiative Silk Road and Belt, which is presented as a platform for promote the flow of trade and investment, the integration of markets and open and inclusive regional economic cooperation.

Within the framework of the DECCE (Strategic Dialogue for Cooperation and Economic Coordination) between the two countries, “meetings were also held to continue advancing in projects that are underway and that are the product of the relationship between the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the Commission National Development and Reform Commission of China”.

The Asian country is Argentina’s first non-Mercosur trade partner, the second destination for agro-industrial exports and the first investor in renewable energies.

Likewise, China “provides financing for infrastructure, energy and transportation projects, and there are important bilateral cooperation initiatives in areas such as agriculture, education, culture and sports, which will impact the entire country.”

In the bilateral meeting, Fernández will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Cafiero; the Argentine ambassador to China, Sabino Vaca Narvaja; the governors of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, and of Río Negro, Arabela Carreras; the national senator Adolfo Rodríguez Saá and the national deputy Eduardo Valdés.

The official activity of the Chinese President will end this Sunday with a visit to the Huawei Technology Center, before leaving by plane with the entourage to Barbados, last country of his tour.

This Saturday, the President continued with his official agenda in the People’s Republic of China with a visit to the Palace Museum, where he participated in the presentation of a floral offering at Mao Zedong’s mausoleum, and attendance at a lunch in honor of the heads of state who attended the opening of the Winter Olympics, while preparing to hold a bilateral meeting tomorrow with his counterpart from the Asian giant, Xi Jinping.

According to sources from the Presidency, the official activity began at 10:30 p.m. on Friday in Argentina (9:30 a.m. on Saturday in China), with a visit to the Palace Museum, located in the so-called “Forbidden City”, former residence of the emperors of the Asian nation.

At 9 p.m. this Saturday in Argentina (Sunday 8 in China), the head of state will have a virtual meeting with the representatives of the diplomatic missions in the Asian nation of the countries that are part of the Latin America and the Caribbean Group (Grulac).

The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, together with the Argentine ambassador to China, Sabino Vaca Narvaja, and the governors of Catamarca and Río Negro maintained “a meeting with representatives of Chinese firms that are part of the economic cooperation and coordination program between China and Argentina”.

This was reported by Kicillof on his Twitter social network account, where he maintained that they analyzed “investments whose objective is fundamental works for the transformation of energy transport in our province and are part of the provincial reconstruction program 6×6“.
