President Alberto Fernández will lead this Tuesday the act for the 20th anniversary of the National Remedy Program, which since 2002 guarantees access and coverage of essential medicines to users of the more than 8,100 primary care centers throughout the country, with more than 54,000 ,000 treatments distributed in the last two years.
The event, which will with the presence of the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, will begin at 11 a.m. and will take place in the Tecnópolis Cultural Auditorium within the framework of a work meeting that will bring together the provincial managers of Remediar from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will also include an exhibition of stands between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to exhibit the different benefits and services of the health portfolio, informed sources officers.
El Remediar is a program that integrates the Medicines policy of the Ministry of Health, through transparent acquisition processes, individualized assembly and direct distribution of kits with treatments to health facilities (CAPS) that make up the first level of care.
Through the program, Patients who do not have social security coverage can pick up, free of charge and at the time, the medications that have been prescribed for them by the professionals of each primary care center where they are treatedIt indicated.
In this way, Remediar responds to “80% of consultations at the first level of care and guarantees drug coverage to 19 million people who depend exclusively on the public health system”they detailed.
“From 2020 to 2022, with an investment of $31,380,267,905, 263,160 kits with 54,819,886 treatments were distributed among the more than 8,100 CAPS. In addition, 12,152 people from the Health teams were trained”, the report noted.
Currently, the essential medicines formulary includes “98 presentations and the last medicines included correspond to those of Mental Health, in 2021, and those of the 1000-day plan from this year,” they added.
In 2021, the largest purchase of medicines in the history of Remediar was processed by public tender, which will allow coverage in the 2022-2023 period.

At 1 pm, the President will participate in the closing ceremony of the First Summit of the Latin American Committee on Internal Security (CLASI), chaired by Argentina through the Minister of Security, Aníbal Fernández, at the Kirchner Cultural Center.
