For his part, Lew, in statements to the same medium, described the meeting as “very pleasant and cordial” and maintained that “joint work opportunities were shared.”

“The president referred to the last visit made by the governors to Israel and asked that in everything we can collaborate, we do not stop doing it,” he added.

After that meeting, Manzur received them at Casa Rosadaaccompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff, George Neme; and the interior ministers, Edward of Peter; of security, Hannibal Fernandez; of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus; and Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Julian Dominguez; who were part of the delegation that traveled to Israel last month as part of a scientific-technological cooperation mission for water resource management.

In that meeting, the four KKL authorities who had met with the President were joined by Esteban Lasry, executive director of KKL Argentina, they indicated from the Chief of Staff.

The coordinating minister stressed that the meeting with the KKL-JNF authorities at the Casa Rosada allows continuity to be given to the agreements reached during the Argentine mission to Israel, which have “important significance for Argentina in the search for collaborative work, technical, scientific, productive and academic exchange” with that country.

On the occasion of the meeting, and in what is the second visit to the country by representatives of KKL-JNF, the attendees discussed the implementation of actions linked to caring for the environment with a focus on sustainable growth.

In this regard, Neme pointed out: “I believe that cooperation ties will be consolidated with the different areas that have to do with KKL’s work, such as agriculture, livestock, forestry, science and technology” and pointed out that they are seeking “to also strengthen the bridge of friendship that exists between the State of Israel and Argentina”.

Regarding the trip made last month and this new meeting with representatives of Israel, Filmus indicated: “We have come from a very productive trip, in which we were able to sign very important exchange agreements and where we also had the opportunity to admire and learn a lot from a country that has placed investment in science and technology as one of its main objectives”.

In 2018, when he was in charge of the government of Tucumán, Manzur visited the KKL authorities in Israel. After that, on a first trip to Argentina, the representatives of the Jewish-Israeli institution and officials from the province began to work on works and water projects that are being carried out in the Calchaquí Valleys.

The KKL-JNF has vast experience in land development, environment and water management, having planted more than 250 million trees on Israeli soil since its creation in 1901, a fundamental policy in the fight against one of the worst effects of climate change, the greenhouse gas. In addition, it built more than 200 dams and reservoirs, and transformed some 1,000 km2 into productive land.
