Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has submitted his resignation from office and resigned as a Politburo and committee member at his personal request, the country’s media reported.
According to the press, during his tenure, Xuan Phuc “was responsible for allowing several high-ranking officials to commit serious violations that led to criminal charges against some of them.”
There were at least two deputy prime ministers and three ministers, accused of committing irregularities, for which they resigned at the time.
“Aware of his responsibilities, Phuc decided to resign his posts and retire,” revealed a statement issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
