President Alberto Fernández met this Sunday at the Olivos Residence with the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, and his closest collaborators, to analyze the scenario opened after the resignation of the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, and define the replacement in that portfolio and other decisions that will be announced in the next few hours.
The president evaluated with his most trusted team the steps to be taken in the stage that begins in the Executive Power after the change in the Economy area, in a meeting that began with some officials present in the Olivos estate and the participation of others by phone.
at 2:30 p.m. Massa left Quinta de Olivos through the Libertador Avenue tunnel and went to another meeting in Tigresources close to the legislator told Télam.
Although Massa was expected to arrive at the Olivos estate “at noon” to speak personally with the head of state, the meeting was brought forward and the legislator arrived at the residence in a black Hyundai van minutes before 11 o’clock.
After 12:30 pm, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, former chief of staff and one of the president’s closest collaborators, joined the meeting.
Also present at the Olivos Residence were the Secretary General of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello; the spokeswoman for the Presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, and the Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Béliz, as confirmed by Télam.
Guzmán presented this Saturday his resignation from the position through a letter in which he reviewed his management at the head of the Palacio de Hacienda, thanked the President for the trust he had in him and his team and said that the person appointed Instead, he must have the “reins” of the portfolio as an essential condition to be able to fulfill his mission.
