The meeting with Georgieva will take place after the IMF spokesman, Gerry Riceratified last week that “in the next few days” the technical evaluation of the body of the second revision of the agreement with Argentina will be announced.

In any case, the expectation is good in both actors from the meeting that the Minister of Economy, Serge Massaheld last Monday in Washington with Georgieva.

Precisely, after that meeting, Georgieva indicated that “it is a good sign that the entire government is focused on implementing the program” agreed with the IMF to refinance the debt contracted by the administration of Mauricio Macri.

He also pointed out that Massa “acknowledged, and so did I, with seriousness, that the problems facing Argentina are very significant.”

Fernández arrived in the United States this Sunday to participate for the first time in person at the UN summit, because in the previous two years he had to do so virtually due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Although there is a notable absence of leaders because many moved to the United Kingdom to participate in the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, this did not prevent the daily life of New York from being altered by the presence of the different delegations, to such an extent that in the city they refer to this time as “the UN days”.

In his message to the General Assembly, Alberto Fernández will call for “dialogue” for Ukraine, will insist on the integration of Argentina in supply value chains and will also refer to the attempted assassination suffered by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on September 1st, with an additional note on the 40 years of Argentine democracy that will be fulfilled in 2023.

Also, as is tradition, it will make a claim of Argentine sovereignty over the Falkland Islands and will renew the request for justice for the attack on the AMIA.

Before that, Fernández plans to participate this Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Sofitel Hotel during the CAF-Development Bank of Latin America week, invited as Argentine president and in his capacity as pro tempore president of Celac.

At 5:30 p.m., meanwhile, he will hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa.

Aníbal Fernández displays his own agenda in the US and will meet with security forces

The Minister of Security of the Nation, Aníbal Fernández, will display its own agenda in the United States as part of the official delegation that traveled to that country for the UN summit and will meet this Monday with local security forces and intelligence agencies.

The official, who accompanies the President in his attendance at the 77th UN General Assembly, will resume through different meetings with intelligence and security agencies and forces the roadmap of his portfolio, which had been postponed after the attack suffered on September 1 by Vice President Cristina Fernández.

Thus, the Minister of Security will have meetings on Monday with authorities from the New York Police, the International Bureau of Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), the FBI and the DEA.

“We have managed to open up a lot of play in terms of information exchange. Today, without information exchange, there is no security force“, highlighted the official in statements to the media that follow the delegation, including Télam.

Fernandez warned that “thinking that by oneself one can dominate the situation in a country is unthinkable, especially with drug trafficking that has tripled in the Americas.”

On the other hand, regarding the case that investigates the attempted assassination of the Vice President, the official pointed out that “the court has all the elements and we are working hard to assist it with a lot of information, because there is a lot of information to process.”

“A lot is being processed, a lot that is allowing us to assimilate and work on certain lines of research that already show complete graphs,” he stressed.

Fernández maintained that “the most important thing in this case is always knowing where the money comes from,” citing a “very strong” document from Homeland Security, the United States Department of Homeland Security, which “points out ‘Follow the money’ , follow the guide”,

“It is much easier when you conquer where the money is than to remove the substance. That is to say, you do not have to stay in who came and not confiscate the substance. But the biggest problem is being able to remove the money. We believe that it is imperative to search money,” he said about the financing of the Vice President’s aggressors.
