President Alberto Fernández led, at the dome of the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), a dinner offered to the authorities who will participate this Thursday in the III Summit of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CELAC and the European Unionproposed by Argentina with the aim of reinforcing bi-regional dialogue and strategic association.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Santiago Cafiero, and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell; official sources reported.

The meeting of foreign ministers of both blocs is part of the calendar of activities programmed and coordinated by Argentina in the framework of its Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

In this context, the Foreign Ministers of the 32 countries that make up CELAC, the largest integration mechanism in Latin America and the Caribbean, met at the San Martin Palace.

That meeting was led by Cafiero, who moderated the dialogue on the 15 lines of action established by the Argentine PPT, including post-Covid economic recovery; food security; dialogue with extra-regional partners and the integration of Latin American and Caribbean infrastructure.

While, the III CELAC-EU Foreign Ministers Summit, which will be held this Thursday at the CCKwas considered a relaunch of the institutionalized bi-regional dialogue within this mechanism, since both blocs had not met since 2018.
