President Alberto Fernández will lead this Thursday the inauguration of the Punta Lara Coastal Park, in the Buenos Aires municipality of Ensenada, a new public space of 1,000 linear meters in length built on the banks of the Río de La Platamodern and sure that in addition It will protect the area from potential flooding.

This is a work awaited for 30 years by the community of Ensenada and the municipalities of Quilmes, Avellaneda, Berisso and La Plata, which will allow the tourist development of Punta Lara, an area that every year receives the visit of 500,000 Buenos Aires residents.
The works, carried out by the Ministry of Public Works with a investment of 278 million pesos, made it possible to recover an important coastal strip degraded by fluvial erosion and the flooding of the river due to the southeast, and transform it into a pedestrian walkway and bike lanes in direct contact with the river, with free access to the community and with the public services that allow the full enjoyment of the sports practice and outdoor activities.
For this, a defense wall was built on the river bank, between Calle 50 and the Punta Lara roundabout, an eight-meter-wide sidewalk for pedestrian circulation with galvanized iron railings, as well as vehicular access ramps to the beach. and stairs, with LED lighting and urban equipment, such as benches and baskets.
constructionthat started in March 2021 and ended this month, it also included the filling and profiling of the land from the wall with pre-cast concrete sheet piles and new drainage systems, in order to ensure adequate drainage of excess rainfall from the property, providing water security, especially to the 650 people living in the area.
Resurfacing route 11
through the Urban Connectivity Hubs Program, and at the height of the Coastal Park, Public Works also made the asphalt resurfacing and leveling 5.6 kilometers from the provincial route 11 (Almirante Brown Avenue), to improve road safety and promote this tourist corridor.
The works, which began in May 2021 and ended in September of the same year, were carried out by Vialidad Nacional and were carried out next to the municipality of Ensenada, between the La Guardia and Boca Cerrada streams, with a investment of $354 million.
