President Alberto Fernandez will inaugurate this Tuesday the new building of the Hospital “Dr. Ramón Carrillo” from the town of San Martin de los Andes and will deliver seven ambulances for the health system of the province of Neuquén, it was officially reported.
The event will be at 1:00 p.m. and Fernández will be accompanied by the Ministers of Health, Carla Vizzettiand Public Works, Gabriel Katopodisand by the governor of Neuquén, Omar Gutierrez.
The new building, of 11,320 square meters, will become the main health center of the Sanitary Zone IV of the province of Neuquén, which will function as a center for diagnosis, treatment, hospitalization and rehabilitation of Medium Complexity (Level 6) and will be the only public provider of this type of care in the southern part of the province, informed sources from the Ministry of Public Works.
The structure of the new hospital consists of three buildings linked by internal circulations: one on the main street, with two floors on the access sector and one level on its sides; the intermediate, of a single level; and in the back, another with three floors.
It will have on-call services, a sterilization room, outpatient clinics, a laboratory and diagnostic imaging sector, four operating rooms, two delivery rooms, six cots for hospitalization in Neonatology, six beds for the Day Hospital, six intensive care beds, 24 hospitalized in the Maternal-Child area and 28 in the adult sector.
The new hospital will benefit 56,000 people and provide care to residents of the cities of San Martín de los Andes, Junín de los Andes, Villa La Angostura and Las Coloradas. And it will increase the complexity of the benefits, improving and expanding the range of services of the Neuquén health network.
The work was planned taking into account the projected population growth for the next 30 years, with the aim of covering the demand of the area of influence, the sources added.
This work is part of the Federal Health Infrastructure Network of the Ministry of Public Works. In coordination with the Ministry of Health, and in the framework of the Covid-19 pandemic, 280 works and interventions were launched in hospitals, health centers and isolation spaces to strengthen health care throughout the national territory.
Among the main works, the 12 Modular Emergency Hospitals built in record time stand out, the 47 new Modular Health Centers in 15 provinces (23 completed, 12 in progress and the rest to be started or planned), the 15 Modular Border Health Centers completed and the 31 Sanitary Isolation Centers in penitentiary units; as well as extensions, refunctionalizations and interventions in hospitals and health centers.
