The reduction in the insecurity perception index prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) to stand at 64.2 percent (with a reduction of 9.5 percentage points), the lowest level since this indicator was established, reflects the social trust that exists around the public security policies that have been implemented, considered President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

During his conference, the president celebrated the presentation of the Inegi report -last week-, among other things due to the homicide report that reflects that during the first semester of 2022, 15,561 were registered, when in the same period of 2020 reported 18 thousand 57.

He stressed that in Mexico a large part of the intentional homicides are associated with the activity of organized crime, a higher percentage, but we don’t have many deaths from consumption. In other words, here it is traffic, fortunately consumption has not grown or has not grown exponentially, because we are serving young people. That is the key, serving people and serving young people. It is cultural strength, attention to causes, perseverance and professionalism. Do not allow corruption, nothing of the García Luna model.

He presented the statistics of the evolution of homicides during the first semesters of each year in previous six-year terms. He mentioned that in the case of Vicente Fox it registered 5 thousand 143 in that period of 2001 and concluded with 5 thousand 163 in 2006; but look at the championsaid in reference to Felipe Calderón, when 4 thousand 442 were reported in 2007 and concluded with 13 thousand 181.

We are very grateful that despite the bombardment in the conventional media, with honorable exceptions, people trust us and do not allow themselves to be manipulated.
