This Sunday, the Minister of Labor, Antonio Sanguino met with the Fecode Executive Committee, a union that brings together the teachers of the country, to listen to the proposals and know the comments of the teachers on the popular consultation announced by President Gustavo Petro to carry out several of the government reforms that have not been approved by the Congress.

From the announcement of the popular consultation, the government installed work tables with several political, social and economic sectors of the country to design the road map and the text that will be presented to Colombians to decide whether or not to support the Executive’s proposals or not.

After the meeting with FECODE, the teachers reaffirmed their support with the popular consultation.
“Count with this, Mr. Minister, because today FECODE and the country we want the changes so that the violence is over, we can resolve the inequalities and that is resolved with important social reforms for the country. There we will be”, Domingo Ayala Espitia said, president of FECODE in public statements after the meeting.
“We assume the commitment of that consultation where we are going to say yes to the reforms for the good of the country”the union leader added.

For his part, the Minister of Labor, Antonio Sanguino, said that “Between the Ministry of Labor, the National Government and the Colombian Federation of Executive Educators we have reiterated the commitment in defense of the labor reform and the social reforms of the change, that these supports in the popular consultation that the President of the Republic will convene so that the teachers of Colombia, the Colombians and Colombians we say yes to the reforms and the transformations of the Government” must be expressed..

Teachers have repeatedly requested that the contracts for the provision of services to which they classify as “Subsal contracts”.
The meetings between the Government and the teachers will actively remain for the development of the road map of the popular consultation.
