The renowned writer, poet and lawyer passed away this Monday, Antonio Lockward Artiles at 79 years of age.
The information was offered by his relatives, who expressed that his death was due to health problems as a result of contracting Covid-19.
Don Antonio Lockward was born in Santo Domingo on March 25, 1943. He was a young anti-Trujillista who was imprisoned and tortured during the dictatorship and defended the workers of Central Romana and the political prisoners during the 12 years of Joaquín Balaguer.
He wrote for the magazines ¡AHORA!, Testimony, and Dominican Brigades, in the literary pages of the main newspapers in the country. He left unpublished works written in verse and prose.
Funeral acts will be held tomorrow without a body present from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Chapel C of the Abraham Lincoln Blandino Funeral Home.
