The Plenary of the Congress of the Republic It will meet this Thursday, September 22, from 9:00 in the morning, in person by order of the President of Parliament, José Williams. According to the agenda, the national representation will debate bills 12 and 365, which seek to modify the effective collaboration in order to limit journalistic work related to reserved investigations.
The initiative, which was unanimously approved by the Parliament’s Justice Commission, proposes penalizing prosecutors, attorneys and judges who leak the content of testimonies. Meanwhile, for journalists, the sanction could include jail.
Bills 465, 509 and 530 will also be debated. These propose to modify articles 179 and 180 of the Political Constitution for the election of one of the members of the National Election Jury (JNE).
Along these lines, constitutional reform initiatives No. 206, 306 and 612 will also be discussed, which proposes to eliminate the confidence vote after the presentation of a new Council of Ministers.
