Santo Domingo.- At the closing of 10th Ordinary Congress of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), its president, Danilo Medina, He outlined the course that the political organization will follow, highlighting transparency, modernization and commitment to social demands as fundamental pillars for the future of the party.
“Today we begin a path that will not be easy, but we move forward with the two most powerful weapons: our compass of ethical values and the aspirations of the Dominican people. With these tools, we will never deviate from our goal and we will be unstoppable,” Medina said before hundreds of militants gathered at the event.
The political leader assured that the PLD of the future will be marked by responsible management of resources. “From the first minute, transparency, accountability and proper management of funds will be our priorities. We will implement internal audits and publish clear financial reports so that citizens know where their resources are invested,” he stated.
In addition, Medina stressed that the modernization of the party will be a key axis, with the adoption of digital technologies to simplify processes and ensure more effective strategic planning. “We will organize ourselves with clear objectives, specific goals and defined responsible parties. “We want to be pioneers on this path and force the rest of the political organizations to follow our example,” he declared.
A commitment to equity and the environment
During his speech, Medina also highlighted the PLD’s commitment to gender equality and the inclusion of young people in leadership roles. “We are not talking about cosmetic measures, but about real participation. “Our party must reflect the diversity and potential of all its members and Dominican society,” he said.
Likewise, he committed to turning the PLD into an environmentally sustainable organization, adopting ecological practices and promoting environmental awareness in its militancy. “Where there is a PLD member, there will be someone committed to the respect and conservation of our land,” he assured.
Reconnection with citizens and historical memory
Medina emphasized the need to strengthen the bond with the population, ensuring that the PLD will be an open party and in constant dialogue with society. “The people’s agenda will be our agenda. We will develop innovative communication strategies that connect with all sectors, especially with young people,” he promised.
