The first minute of this Sunday, the Evaluation Committee of the Judiciary announced through the Official Gazette of the Federation the list of candidates for the positions of judges, magistrates and ministers who met the requirements to continue in the process towards the election on June 1, 2025. Of the 25 who go to the next phase to be part of the Court , highlights the former Attorney General of the Republic Marisela Morales and Paula María García Villegas Sánchez Cordero, daughter of Congresswoman Olga Sánchez Cordero.
The current ministers Yasmín Esquivel, Lenia Batres and Loretta Ortiz do not appear on this list, who have a direct pass to the election, in accordance with the provisions of the reform of the Judiciary.
Within the publication, nine candidates were selected to join the Judicial Disciplinary Court; Likewise, eight candidates for the upper chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF), where the former electoral advisor Adriana Favela, the magistrate Claudia Valle Aguilasocho, who was integrated into that court for the qualification of the last presidential election. .
Likewise, the magistrates Gabriela Villafuerte Coello, Rubén Lara Patrón, Luis Espíndola Morales, Marco Antonio Zavala Arrendondo and Enrique Figueroa Ávila.
There is also the list of 33 candidates for magistrates of regional chambers of the TEPJF, 374 for circuit magistrates, as well as 24 candidates for magistrates for courts of appeal.
The largest list is that corresponding to lawyers seeking to compete for a judge position and which totals 573.
In accordance with the call issued by the Senate, the other evaluation committees, both of the Executive and Legislative Branches, also have to make public today the list of people who met the constitutional eligibility requirements. The next step is that the three committees will rate the suitability of the applicants, whose list will be published no later than January 31.
