Around 5,000 peasants and indigenous leaders attended. In addition, the president gave a speech that has generated criticism and noise among public opinion.
Petro affirmed that the devaluation of the Colombian peso, which already exceeds 24%, is due to the fact that drug trafficking has modernized and goes unnoticed in the global financial market.
Likewise, he assured that the drug supply has grown enough so that the business dollars remain in other countries and no longer enter Colombia.
“Has anyone wondered why the Colombian peso fell? The Colombian peso had to fall because dollars no longer enter the same amount as before. Where did the dollars that entered Colombia come from? Of those of oil, yes, of those of coal, yes. But they were also those of cocainePetro commented.

“But they were also those of cocaine. If the Colombian peso fell, it shows an economic reality and that is that cocaine dollars are no longer entering Colombia. They stay on the road: en Wall Street, New York, Mexico, Tegucigalpa, Madrid, Brussels, Luxembourg, etc., etc., etc.“said the president.
