For the second day in a row, several trucks remain stranded at kilometer 262 of the Panamericana Sur highway due to protests over the closure of Congress and new presidential elections.

“We came from Cusco and got stranded in Ica and now we walk all this way. Here all these trucks are full of merchandise. I’m walking three hours to find another vehicle”said a citizen.
He also questioned that so far the Executive has not carried out actions against the road blockade at the national level. “The person who runs this country should call an urgent truce and provide a solution to this situation we are going through. The protesters only asked us to support the strike. They are in their right, but you have to put the full stop”, remarked.
On the eve, the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarteurged dialogue to the people who have been participating in marches at the national level and in the blockade of sections of the South Pan American.
“To the social organizations and the movements that are now mobilizing in the streets, let’s talk and seek a peaceful solution to this situation. Peru no longer gives for more, I believe that the food crisis and vulnerable populations are waiting to solve the problems with that country perspective”asserted Boluarte Zegarra.
