MADRID, Spain.- The perpetrators of a violent robbery in Güira de Melena, province of Artemisa, were arrested, according to a recent local media report. The Artemiseño.
The event had occurred at dawn on December 2 at the Finca Bailén, of the Ubaldo Díaz Fuentes Credit and Services Cooperative. Tools, chemical products and shelled garlic were stolen from the place, said Jesús Arias Tejeda, head of the Ministry of the Interior in the town.
Those responsible, who caused physical damage to the custodians of the farm, “are now exposed to the procedure of the law,” added Arias Tejeda.
The owners appreciated the return of a large part of the goods that had been stolen by those involved.
“It is very important to point out that the population collaborated in the investigation of this unfortunate fact, while the need to redouble vigilance is imposed to avoid these experiences and to be demanding in confronting indiscipline and illegalities, especially in sectors that drive the country’s economy”, reads the note from The Artemiseño.
During the last months, robberies and acts of delinquency have increased in Cuba, many of them occurred during blackout hours.
At the beginning of the current month, the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) reported about nine robberies that occurred in Pinar del Río, in which four of the people assaulted were injured.
A few days earlier, also in Pinar del Río, it emerged that a 58-year-old Cuban had been hit on the head while they were trying to rob him.
The victim, specifically assaulted with violence on Máximo Gómez street, between Recreo and Vélez Caviedes, was attacked with their fists and stones by three people.
