THE PCC condemns “in the strongest terms” the US actions against Venezuela

The PCC Congress scheduled for 2026 is postponed at the proposal of Raúl Castro

He Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) condemned this Saturday “in the strongest terms” the “escalation of aggressions” of the Trump Administration against Venezuela and reiterated his support for the government of Nicolás Maduro.

The political formation, the only legal one on the island, issued a statement replicated on social networks by his first secretary and Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and other senior officials in which he stated that the US military deployment in waters near Venezuela is a “reliable example of its total disrespect for sovereignty.”

The PCC called Washington’s accusation of linking Maduro with the Suns cartel, a group allegedly linked to drug trafficking, as “false,” an argument used by Washington to increase the presence of naval forces in the area.

Likewise, he criticized “the recent assault and criminal seizure of a ship with Venezuelan oil by Washington’s military forces; the total and complete blockade of oil vessels entering and leaving Venezuela, and its arbitrary designation as an international terrorist organization.”

These facts, the Communist Party of Cuba maintained in its note, “constitute dangerous actions, intentionally articulated, to justify the realization of interventionist interests and Yankee domination.”

“Unwavering support” for Maduro

The PCC reiterated its “unwavering support and solidarity with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), its national leadership and militancy, as well as with the popular, military and police fusion led by President Nicolás Maduro.”

He also called for the mobilization of “parties, social movements and left-wing and progressive political forces” to demand an end to the attacks against Caracas.

The statement by the Cuban communists was issued on the same day that the United States Government confirmed the interception of another oil tanker in international waters of the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela, which, according to the media, was flying a Panamanian flag.

This is the second vessel intercepted in the Caribbean by the Administration of President Donald Trump, which last week seized the Skipper ship and confiscated the crude oil it was transporting.

In this regard, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez condemned on his networks this new “act of piracy and maritime terrorism”, which in his opinion “reiterates the conduct of total disrespect and violation of International Law, Maritime Law and freedom of navigation and commerce.”

The US intercepts and confiscates another sanctioned oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela

Trump has intensified his pressure on Venezuela in recent weeks, and has recently ordered a total blockade of the entry and exit of this country to oil tankers sanctioned by the US Government.

In addition, the Republican stated last Wednesday that the South American country had taken away oil rights from US companies, although without detailing the matter.

Havana, a historical ally of Chavismo, has warned from the beginning of the tensions that “what it considers to be Washington’s “pretexts” for possible aggression against Venezuela “cannot be accepted legally or morally.”
