In a week marked by changes in the exchange market, the Justicialist Party closed ranks in a “strong support” for the Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, who received during the week the visit of governors of the Front of Allwho next Wednesday will hold a new meeting of the League and will explain their endorsement to the national government.

In a calmer political framework behind closed doors of the ruling coalition, Buenos Aires governors and mayors paraded this week through the Casa Rosada, where they met with the chief of staff, Juan Manzur, and then crossed to the Ministry of Economy to hear first-hand the economic diagnosis of Batakisamid an escalation of the illegal dollar and speculative pressure.

Beyond the agreements and budget transfers for the districts, the common denominator for the Peronist leaders was to “reorder” after the figure of Batakis: “In this economic situation in the countryyou have to bank the government“, repeated in unison both those who traveled to the city of Buenos Aires and those who communicated by phone or held virtual meetings.

On Friday, in an act at the Bicentennial Museum to announce investments in science and technology, President Alberto Fernández was accompanied by governors and from there he took the opportunity to strongly target speculators and rural sectors that do not liquidate their harvest.

“They are not going to twist my arm because I know that I have the support of each one of you”Fernandez told the leaders and leaders of the FdT summoned to the act.

The second meeting of the League of Governors is scheduled for next week, to be held on Wednesday the 27th in Bariloche, Río Negro, which will have a more conciliatory tone with the Government and its proposals will be under the tutelage of the economic situation that conditions the claims of the provincial leaders who now have as their main mission to guarantee the works for their districts.

“The photo with Manzur and Batakis will be more and more common,” they point out from the circles of the governors who must negotiate the budget for infrastructure works since the national Executive Power does not have a Budget law due to the impediment of the opposition sectors in Congress.

This is read by the presidential circle as “a good sign” and “an encouraging situation” to continue on the path of dialogue and the recovery of dialogue within the Frente de Todos.

This week, the vice president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner dedicated her posts on Twitter to questioning the actions of the Supreme Court of Justice and pointed out that “with this judicial and business operation, Argentina becomes almost an impossible mission”, while the idea grows in some sectors of the ruling party that the banning of the former president with a view to the 2023 elections could be one of the objectives sought by members of the Supreme Court.

In the same vein, the President supported the criticism of the Vice President to the high court and again demanded the urgent need for “a deep and democratic reform” of the Justice.

On the other hand, the Buenos Aires Peronist mayors -accompanied by the Buenos Aires chief of staff, Martín Insaurralde- also met this week with the head of the Palacio de Hacienda, whom they consider a close leader for her years in the provincial government during the administration by Daniel Scioli.

“Here nobody is going to take their feet off the plate. But we need measures to stop the increase in prices”said one of the most experienced communal chiefs of the Buenos Aires suburbs upon leaving the meeting.

Thus, the Peronist mayors marked the suburban thermometer while waiting for new economic measures from the Government to confront the speculators who increase prices and who put pressure on the different values of the dollar in an exchange market in permanent tension.

Tributes for the 70th anniversary of Evita’s death

Gestures of unity within the ruling party are also expected for next week: the different expressions of Peronism will acts and marches next Tuesday in tribute to the figure of Eva Perón, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the death of the wife of Juan Domingo Perón.

The governors, mayors and leaders of the FDT will seek to hoist the traditional flags of the most classic Peronism and go against the sectors of concentrated power.

For his part, the Justicialist Party (PJ) national -chaired by Alberto Fernández- convened a tribute ceremony for Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at its headquarters at 130 Matheu Street.

Postponed, still without a date, the two-way meeting that Fernández was going to hold that day with his peer Joe Biden in Washington, it is not ruled out that the President joins the tribute for the 70th anniversary of Evita’s death.
