The animal world shows us more surprises every day. Proof of this is a rainbow fish that lives in the depths of the Indian Ocean and whose case is quite unique: this species born female, but eventually becomes male.
This animal is a fairy fish with a pink veil, its scientific name is Cirrhilabrus finifenmaawhich was assigned to him in 2022, lives near the Maldives islands, between 40 and 70 meters under the Indian Ocean and inhabits the huge coral reefs that are in the depths.

This marine species was discovered in March thanks to the Hope for Reefs initiative of the California Academy of Sciences (United States), which seeks to better understand and protect the world’s coral reefs, focusing on mesophotic reefs.
