Residents of the Campo Polo settlement, in the district of Castilla, reported that the area known as Papal Fieldhas become a garbage dump for quite some time, which is why they are asking the municipality to intervene.
Residents said that local residents, as well as those from other areas, arrive on tricycles and vans to dump waste at this site, without respecting the fact that there are homes where children and the elderly live nearby.
The discomfort caused by the dumping of waste is complemented by the strong nauseating smells emanating from the piles of rubbish in this Castilian area, especially at midday. In addition to the presence of birds of prey.
“The men arrive in tricycles, cars, trucks, they arrive at dawn and throw out the garbage and even the rubbish. They throw everything here, they take advantage of the early morning when we are sleeping, but we complain and they don’t pay attention,” said Rosa Quinteros.
They also questioned the cleaning staff of Castilla, who leave piles of rubbish, which are then dispersed again, leaving the area in the same situation.
They have also asked the mayor of Castilla, Walther Guerrero, to intervene in the area as a municipality.
“They (the municipality) do nothing. They pile up the trash, sit there doing hours and never take the trash away. The cars use more gasoline,” said another resident.
They added that, on numerous occasions, people who come to dump waste in this area burn the garbage, affecting the people who live in this settlement.
