This Tuesday, April 11, a new batch of 20,400 doses of bivalent vaccines arrived in the country, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI).
According to the PAI authorities, 6,000 of these doses are pediatric to apply to children between 5 and 11 years of age; while 14 thousand 400 doses will be to reinforce the Continuous Vaccination Program from the age of 12.
Itzel de Hewitt, EPI National Coordinator, indicated that tonight they will receive 500,000 doses of the influenza vaccine so that starting tomorrow the continuous vaccination program developed by the National Government will be further strengthened.
He explained that so far more than 225,000 doses of the bivalent vaccine have been applied nationwide.
He also said that as of next April 22, the Vaccination of the Americas will begin, where all the vaccines of the National Scheme will be applied to the entire population subject to the Immunization Program.
“We will be visiting all schools to vaccinate those students who have a booster or a COVID-10 vaccine pending and simultaneously we will vaccinate them against influenza, so it is important that the population go to get vaccinated,” Hewitt pointed out.
