President Alberto Fernández renewed this Thursday the claim for the “legitimate rights” of Argentina over the Malvinas Islands, when delivering his speech at the IX Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles, United States.

“Argentina is a peaceful country. We continue to claim through diplomatic channels the legitimate rights that we have over our Malvinas Islands. We continue to trust in dialogue,” Fernandez remarked.

Delivering his speech, The president also noted that the archipelago did not appear on the map of America that is part of the logo of the regional summit.

“We must build together, in unity, a renewed humanism, which, as Pope Francis teaches, begins with the least, to reach everyone,” Fernandez emphasized.
