The Ombudsman gives Meduca an ear pull for the poor state of the schools

Very deteriorated schools, furniture in poor condition and other irregularities was part of what the Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc, found in a tour he carried out in various schools nationwide.

Given this situation, the ombudsman called on the Vice Ministry of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education (Meduca) to speed up the repairs in the schools that have been closed for more than two years.

“We are seeing very deteriorated schools such as the José Dolores Mosocte Institute (IJDM), the Juan B. Sosa, where they are still fixing chairs. The truth is that a message to the Vice Ministry of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education, which has to get its act together, cannot It’s been so long since the schools are closed and they’re so dilapidated,” Leblanc said.

He stressed that the IJDM, with a population of more than 3,000 students, is very deteriorated, with slabs falling off, the fence poorly made and that it endangers the students of the campus, in addition to the fact that there are not enough benches in the classrooms, since that they are still repairing them, added to this the lack of drinking water.

The Ombudsman put at the disposal of the Meduca those prisoners who carry out repairs within the Penitentiary System so that they can help with the arrangement of the chairs.
