The 83-year-old man found dead and handcuffed at his home in the Buenos Aires town of Villa Ballester died as a result of suffocation, according to the preliminary autopsy report, judicial sources reported.
The victim was identified as Alfredo Kuchalski, whose body was found on Thursday afternoon in his home located on San Lorenzo Street in the residential area of the town belonging to the San Martín district, in the northwest of the suburbs.
Judicial spokesmen informed Télam that the preliminary autopsy report determined this afternoon that Kuchalski died asphyxiated.
However, the prosecutor Carlos Insaurralde, of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) 3 of the Judicial Department of San Martín, did not yet have the complete report, so the mechanics of the suffocation suffered by the victim were still unknown.
Meanwhile, the investigators tried to determine if the old man was the victim, it was a robbery or a personal conflict, since the entrance to the house was not forced.
In this sense, the investigations established that due to the state in which the house was found, the man suffered from Diogenes syndrome, which manifests itself in the compulsion to accumulate objects, and determined that in principle there were no missing property.
At the time of the discovery, the old man was sitting in a chair and with his hands tied behind his back with seals, in his home where he lived with one of his 43-year-old daughters, who has Down syndrome.
Every morning Kuchalski took her to a day center located about four blocks from her home, and since on Thursday she did not go to pick her up at 4:00 p.m., as usual, the local authorities contacted the Local Prevention Police Unit (UPPL). ), whose troops later went to his house and found his body.
