According to the resolution that was published this Sunday, July 3 in the Official Gazette El Peruano, the team of prosecutors will have national jurisdiction to dedicate themselves exclusively to the crimes of corruption of officials, organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, money laundering and related crimes committed during the exercise of power obtained by popular election or appointment.
It is also detailed that this set “is competent to hear the facts committed prior to obtaining power by popular election or appointment, through a report detailing the procedural or material connection”.

Likewise, it is established that the Superior Prosecutor coordinator of the Special Team of Prosecutors against the corruption of power has a period of 5 business days to carry out the national inventory of the fiscal folders that have as objects that are within their competence.
In this sense, as soon as the fiscal folders that the special team will see are identified, they will be required by the National Coordinating Prosecutors to be reached within 48 hours.
The Office of the Prosecutor of the Nation also assured that the preliminary investigation of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, will continue to be carried out according to his powers in accordance with the Political Constitution of Peru.
