The busy totalized 5,149,829 peoplefor an interannual increase of 2.4%, equivalent to 119,965 workers net with respect to the period July-September 2024, according to the most recent results of the Continuing National Labor Force Survey (ENCFT), published yesterday by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD).
When analyzing the demographic composition of the new busy82.2% (98,626 jobs) correspond to the female population, concentrated mainly in the 25 to 39 year old group, while men contributed the remaining 17.8% (21,339 job positions).

In terms of employment compositionit is evident that, from year-on-year increase of 119,965 workersthe formal busy contributed a net total of 88,583 people (73.8%) in July-September 2025, while informal workers increased by 31,382 (26.2%).
As a result, the informality rate was located at 54.6% in the third quarter of 2025 for a decrease of 0.7 percentage points compared to the 55.3% registered in the same period of 2024.
