The number of provinces and the National District on alert for heavy rains has increased to 12

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased this Tuesday to 12 the number of provinces that, together with the National District, are under green and yellow alert, due to the downpours recorded since yesterday afternoon, the result of a trough combined with a tropical wave.

“The COE increases 07 provinces and the National District on yellow alert and maintains 05 on green, due to the fact that an active tropical wave in combination with a trough will be generating moderate showers locally,” he announced on his X account.

In this regard, he explained that the provinces on green alert are: Peravia, María Trinidad Sánchez, San José de Ocoa, Samaná and San Juan.

On the other hand, the following are on yellow alert: National District, San Cristobal, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macoris, Monte Plata, Sanchez Ramirez, Monsignor Nouel and La Vega.
