The number of people with registered work in the country grew 5% in June compared to the same month of 2021 by adding a total of 12.69 million jobss, according to information from the administrative records of the Argentine Integrated Social Security System (SIPA).
In seasonally adjusted terms, registered work presented a positive variation of 0.5% in relation to last May (63.1 thousand more jobs); and, with respect to the same month of the previous year, grew 5.0% (+607.2 thousand workers).

President Alberto Fernández celebrated this Monday the “historic record” of registered employment growth in Argentina and shared information detailing that “63,000 jobs were created in June” in the country.
“HISTORICAL RECORD: in June there were 12.7 million registered workers in Argentina”, Fernández wrote on his Twitter account.
And he shared the tweet of the provincial senator of Corrientes, Martín Barrionuevo, who points out: “New Historical Record of Registered Work: in June there were 12,723,000 workers. In June, 63,000 jobs were created. 56,600 in the private sector, of which 31,100 wage earners in white”.

A distinctive aspect of the formal labor dynamics in June, as well as in recent months, is the extension of the growth process of registered employment in the private sector in most productive sectors and in almost all provincial jurisdictions.
This phenomenon implies that the new registered jobs created in recent times were distributed within a framework of equityregardless of the location, qualification or work experience of the workers and workers in a situation of unemployment, informality or inactivity.
In June, 9.974 million people with registered salaried employment were countedor (including the private sector, the public sector and work in private homes) and 2,725 million people with independent work (monotributists and self-employed), specified the work.
The group of people with registered salaried employment presented a rise of 0.4% in the last month (36.8 thousand more workers).
The first half of 2022 was consolidated as one of the periods with the highest creation of formal jobs since 2009.
This variation was led by private sector companies (+0.5%, 31.2 thousand workers) and by the public sectoror (+0.2%; 6.5 thousand workers), while work in private homes presented a fall of 0.2% (0.8 thousand workers less).
In June, there were 6.129 million people with salaried employment in the private sector (+0.5%, 31.2 thousand more people).
Widespread growth in sectors
From January 2021 to last June, positive variation rates in registered employment are observed, a dynamic that allowed the level of employment in force before the start of the pandemic to be exceeded (the level of employment reached in June 2022 is 2.9% above February 2020, 172.2 thousand more people).
June features a generalized growth of employment in the different sectors of activity, since the variations were positive in 13 of the 14 sectors analyzed. Among the branches of activity that showed the greatest monthly dynamism were Hotels and restaurants (+2.0%), Construction (+1.3%), Mining and quarrying (+0.7%), Commerce and repairs (+ 0.6%), and Manufacturing industries (+0.6%).
The sector Hotels Y restaurantswhich was going through a contractive phase before the pandemic, which deepened with the start of the health emergency, began to show positive variation rates in March and April 2021, fell back in May and June of that year, and showed results again positive in the last 12 months.
Beyond this recovery, the deterioration at the start of the pandemic was so profound that its current employment level is 4.2% below that in effect in February 2020.
For its part, the Building presents 23 consecutive months with positive monthly variations; thus, the rise of 1.3% in June took its level of employment 11.5% above the level prior to the start of the pandemic.
However, it is still 7.8% below the maximum reached by the sector in March 2018.
Overall growth by jurisdiction
At the regional level, a generalized growth is also observed: In the monthly comparison, 23 of the 24 jurisdictions showed positive variations.
Among those that grew the most were Tierra del Fuego (+2.0%), Misiones (+2.0%), La Rioja (+1.7%), Catamarca (+1.5%), Formosa (+1 .4%), San Luis (+1.1%), Chubut (+1.1%), Salta (+1.0%), Chaco (+1.0%).
For their part, Córdoba and CABA managed to grow above the average for the registered private salaried sector (+0.7% and +0.6% respectively), while Santa Fe and Buenos Aires did so below (+0.4%). in each case).
On the contrary, the province of Tucumán presented a decrease in employment (-0.9%).
In relation to the level prior to the start of the pandemic (February 2020), 22 provinces managed to recover these levels.
On the other hand, in June the average gross nominal remuneration was $210,904 and grew 65.9% in relation to the same month of the previous year; while median gross compensation was $168,913 and increased 69.0% year over year.
