The number of families affected by the fires in Santa Cruz reaches 4,000

“The most affected municipalities are: Concepción, San Ignacio de Velasco, Urubichá, San Rafael, San José de Chiquitos and Ascensión de Guarayos,” pointed out Dionisio Castro, coordinator of the Risk Management Directorate.

Likewise, he indicated that the Government of Santa Cruz has mobilized 1,045 forest firefighters, including municipal, volunteers, rescuers, community and park rangers, who are on the front line carrying out fire control and mitigation work.

The official added that, with its own resources, 59 tons of humanitarian assistance have been sent to 11 affected municipalities due to forest fires.
