The Venezuelan Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, reported this Wednesday through his Twitter account that the number of officials arrested for their alleged involvement in corruption schemes had risen to 58.
It also reported that in the last 72 hours, 18 arrest warrants have been issued for execution and 161 raids have been carried out, without offering further details on the places where these procedures were carried out.
He explained that in the case PDVSA-Crypto 99 raids have been carried out nationwide and 53 arrest warrants have been issued, while in the case of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG) 48 raids have been carried out and 13 arrest warrants have been issued.
In another post, he highlighted that there are three other orders for officials linked to Cartones de Venezuela in whose case they have carried out seven raids.
In the case of corruption related to the Judiciary, six arrest warrants have been issued and six searches have been carried out.
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, asked the authorities to punish in an “exemplary” way all the officials involved in these plots, including judges, a former governor, a minister and executives of PDVSA and CVG, among others.

The Attorney General of the Republic said in the past that all these detainees are charged with the crimes of appropriation or distraction of public property, boasting or use of relationships or influences, money laundering and association.
