Two companies submitted to the call made by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, one from Montevideo and the other from Paysandú.
“The costs that both companies gave exceeded what was established by Tocaf, which was 10 million pesos, and a new call for bids had to be made that is in process these days.
It was expected to start the expansion before the end of the year 2022, demanding the work three months. The definition of the tender, and the entire process that it takes, indicate that the expansion of the fluvial passenger terminal would begin this year.
The arrangement is to maintain the current structure where Customs, Immigration and the company Delta Argentina work today, to the side (in the direction of the wall) would be the new hall of about 120 square meters of metal and glass structure, with a battery of bathrooms. Completing the work, the elaborated plan establishes an aluminum and glass enclosure in the boarding gangway, and a single roof that will cover the new work, the gangway and the existing building today.
