The "No" closed its campaign firing its last arguments against the Broad Front and the PIT-CNT

The campaign for the “No” officially closed this Tuesday in an indoor event in Las Piedras, and they took advantage of until the last moment to criticize the Broad Front, affirming that they are holding a “revenge referendum.”

The former senator and former president, Julio María Sanguinetti; the senator for Cabildo Abierto, Guido Manini Ríos; the Labor Minister, Pablo Mieres, and Daniel Peña, of the People’s Party.

For the National Party, the secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, spoke, who did not allow the work of Luis Lacalle Pou to be praised, who was not present. “It was a very difficult two years. There was a pandemic and the truth is that they did not give us a break, not even for that. We would have liked them to have been on the same side, to take care of the people, and after 15 days we had a caceroleo and then a barrage and an attack with a mandatory quarantine to lock up the people and the economy, “Delgado said vehemently, adding : “They told us that the CTIs were collapsing and then that the vaccines did not arrive.”

He referred to the national network of the Commission for Yes, saying that “they spoke very little about the articles and spoke again of a number of things that the law does not have.”

He asserted that the PIT-CNT “took over the Broad Front” because “it put a president in it,” alluding to the fact that Fernando Pereira, former president of the trade union center, now presides over the leftist political party.

In his opinion, the FA wants to make “a revenge referendum”, and he raised his voice to shout: “No, gentlemen, in Uruguay the governments come and go, by popular vote, every five years! In three years people have every right to judge.

Sanguinetti against the “conservative” unions

Representing the Colorado Party was former President Julio Sanguinetti, who assured that the government has handled the COVID-19 pandemic with “prudence” and addressed the youth to tell them that they are “participating in something big, because this government, which It arrived wrapped in the support of the citizens, after only two years they want to ignore it and they want to interrupt it now”.

He criticized what he called “union corporations,” speaking about unions, saying they are “old, retarded, conservative and reactionary” because they “take boys hostage.” “They lied, falsified hours and exercised a power that the citizens did not give them,” he said in reference to Fenapes.

For his part, Guido Manini Ríos came out to speak right in the middle of the controversy over accusations against him for supposedly being a landowner -something he flatly denies-. He railed against “the lie” and “against the scandalous misrepresentation of reality.”

“It is time to take off their mask, they lied to us, they lied to us and they continue to lie to us today. To the lie, to the misrepresentation, to the deception this Sunday the Uruguayan people say No”, assured the senator lobbyist.

Mieres added with his speech saying that he has “a few campaigns on his back” and that he has never seen “one so full of lies and deceit.”
